Questions

Short answers to what people ask most.

Pick the Cast

Does it cost anything?

No. Pick the Cast is free. There’s no money, betting, entry fee or prize anywhere in the app.

Which shows can I play?

Survivor is live now. Every other show on the site is coming soon: its page has the proposed rules and scoring and a waitlist, so you hear the moment parties open.

Is this official?

No. Pick the Cast is an independent fan game. It isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any network, streaming service, studio or show. Show names are trademarks of their owners.

Are fan polls an official vote?

Never. Polls on Pick the Cast are fan opinion. They don’t count toward, link to, or influence any show’s official voting.

What makes a good password?

At least 8 characters with at least one number; a short phrase like “tribal council at 9” works well. You type it twice when you sign up, and you can always sign in with an emailed link instead.

Who can see my party?

A private party: only its members, who join through your invite link or code. A public party: anyone can see its standings and join while picks are open. Picks stay hidden until the deadline either way.

What’s a public party?

A party anyone can find on the show’s page and join, no invite needed. Great if your friends don’t watch, or for a podcast or fan group. Hosts choose public or private when they start a party.

Parties and picks

How many people can be in a party?

As many as you like. Each show page suggests a size that works best for its format.

Can two people pick the same contestant?

In shows with locked picks, yes: several people can ride the same favorite. Draft formats give each contestant to one player.

Can I change my picks?

No. Once you confirm, your picks are locked for the season. That’s the whole game.

What if I miss the deadline?

Submissions close at your party’s deadline by the server’s clock, and late picks aren’t accepted. Ask your host to extend the deadline before it passes.

Who enters the results?

Pick the Cast enters each episode once after it airs and publishes it. Every party following the season updates at the same moment.

What happens if a result is wrong?

It gets corrected, the change is logged, standings recalculate, and anyone whose score changed gets a correction notice.

Will the app spoil an episode?

Results stay hidden until they’re published after the episode airs, and results emails use spoiler-free subject lines unless you turn that off.

Survivor

When are Survivor picks due?

By the end of the merge episode. Your party follows the merge automatically: once the merge episode is known, picks close at 11:59 PM on the night it airs.

When do Survivor points start?

With the first episode after the merge episode. The merge episode doesn’t count, because picks can still come in while it airs.
