Pick a brigade of three chefs and cash in on every win, every Judges' Table and every Last Chance Kitchen comeback.

Chefs compete in a short Quickfire Challenge and a bigger Elimination Challenge each episode, and the judges send the weakest home at Judges' Table. Eliminated chefs can fight their way back through Last Chance Kitchen. The finalists cook a multi-course meal and the judges name the season's Top Chef, who wins $250,000.

How it will work

The proposed format for when Top Chef opens. Details can change before launch.

  1. Start a party

    Create a private party and invite friends with a link or code.

  2. Pick your brigade

    Choose three chefs from the announced cast before Episode 1 is released. Picks are locked once you submit them.

  3. Score every Judges' Table

    Your chefs earn points for Quickfire and Elimination wins, top placements, immunity and Restaurant Wars, and lose points in the bottom or when they pack their knives.

  4. Last Chance Kitchen keeps you alive

    Eliminated chefs can still earn points in Last Chance Kitchen, and a chef who fights back in earns a big bonus. Highest total at the finale wins.

Rules

Your brigade

Pick three chefs from the main cast. Picks are locked once you submit them, and several players can pick the same chef.

Pick deadline

Picks lock at the first official release of Episode 1, on broadcast or streaming, whichever is first. Every chef scores from Episode 1.

Official results only

Points come only from aired episodes and official Last Chance Kitchen releases. Only chefs the show calls to Judges' Table as top or bottom get those points.

Team challenges and Restaurant Wars

Everyone on the winning Restaurant Wars team gets +3. Only a chef the judges name as the winner gets the +7 win, even in team challenges.

Elimination

Packing your knives is -10 (not also -2 for the bottom). In a double elimination, each chef gets -10.

Last Chance Kitchen

Eliminated chefs earn +2 for each Last Chance Kitchen win and +8 for returning to the competition, then score normally again. Points post with the next main episode.

Finale

Every finalist gets +10 and the winner +20 more. Losing finalists aren't penalized.

Quits, disqualifications and medical exits

Quitting or being disqualified is -10. A medical exit is 0. A chef reinstated by production scores again from that episode.

Not scored

Cash prizes, extra time and other perks aren't scored. Immunity is +2 when it's earned.

Ties

Tied players share a rank. A host can turn on a tiebreaker before the party starts: best finish by a chef, then most Elimination Challenge wins.

Late joiners

After the deadline, a host can let late joiners pick from chefs still in the main competition. Their points start with the next main episode.

Corrections

Fixed results are voided and replaced with a logged reason, and only players whose score or rank changed are notified.

Independent fan game

Pick the Cast isn't affiliated with Bravo or the show. No entry fees, wagering or cash prizes.

Can I play Top Chef fantasy on Pick the Cast yet?

How many chefs do you pick?

Three. Everyone in the party picks before the deadline, and picks are locked for the season, so friends can back the same chef.

When are picks due?

Picks lock when Episode 1 is first released, on Bravo or streaming, whichever comes first. Every chef scores from Episode 1.

How does Top Chef fantasy scoring work?

Points come from what happens on the show. The biggest: win Top Chef (+20), cook in the finale (+10) and return from Last Chance Kitchen (+8). The steepest loss: quit or disqualified (−10). Every event and its points are on the scoring page. These values are proposed and can change before the show opens.

How many people should be in a party?

6-12 players works best, up to 20. Parties can be private (invite link or code) or public.
